H&M look outs, Lorac on Hautelook, The Sample Store, Jewelmint collective haul!

H&M look outs
I have been looking everywhere for some nice chiffon shirts this spring! However, they always end up looking weird when I try them on. The light coral colors are just so pretty and the material feels very soft. Here are some that I saw on H&M but I didn't buy them.

I did end up, however, getting this cute straw hat. I've been wanting to get myself something medium sized and the bottom was flat. Only $9.95!

Love that shirt! Don't think I've ever posted up a picture of it on my blog..
I got it from Joyce Leslie a month ago?

LORAC on Hautelook
Left: Insider / Right: Drama

They are VERY pigmented! I love these shadows. However, I thought drama was more black than silver..

Just wanted to show you the packaging in the back..

The Sample Store
(thesamplestore.sg)
What is the Sample Store?:
It's a store located in Singapore that gives out free samples for items they sell in their online shop. The samples aren't big, but it's nice to try them out. You just have to pay for shipping and handling.

I haven't opened and tried any of these items yet so I can't tell you guys if it works well or not. Hopefully when I do get a chance to, I will do a review or a swatch and let you guys know!

The shipping however, wasn't very good. I ordered from them about a month or more ago and I just received it two days ago. It was only $4 for shipping from Singapore I guess..

Jewelmint

I'm pretty sure most of you guys have heard of Jewelmint right? No, none of these items were sent to me. A lot of gurus on Youtube and bloggers have been receiving these items and raving about them. I've been wanting to get a few pieces myself, but I passed up on some great items.

I receive e-mails all the time with promotions and you probably see a lot of 50% off codes online as well. Last week, I got an e-mail about a deluxe set. The promotion was basically 4 sets that included 2 items in each set. It was basically 2 items for $29.99. However, all the sets were pre-picked which means you don't get to pick which two items. I've always wanted this necklace so I picked this set with the ring which looked pretty okay online.

The ring wasn't much of my style, but I guess it's okay. The necklace however, is amazing and super pretty! I love it and I seriously can't wait to wear it. It's so colorful and Spring-like.

I actually paid $14.99 for both of these! This deluxe set was $29.99 then I also used a 50% off code afterwards so it came out to half the price. I'm so glad I got 2 items for half of one hehe. Smart, eh? Sorry if you guys didn't know about this deluxe set or having the half off code before. You can search this code on google or use "MINT50" if it still works. I didn't take a picture of the packaging because the lighting was bad but it's really nice and you can find pictures on other blogs.

Miss NY Chinese Pageant (Photos + Semi-Final Updates)

Last Sunday (5/22), there was a Semi-Final Selection at Mulan Banquet. There were 35 semi-finalists, but I think a few didn't show up. Only 14 could move onto being a finalist. We had rehearsal the Wednesday before where we learned how to sit and walk. On Sunday, we had to do our introduction and Q&A in our bikini. The intro was about 30 seconds and they usually cut off our talent after 1 minute. We wore our cocktail dress for taking pictures mostly. My mom had gotten me a dress, shoes and a new bikini the day before (haul video soon). The next day, the photos were on Chinese newspapers.

I think I did pretty well on my introduction and Q&A. I had gotten my make up and hair done that morning. However, when I got on stage for my talent, I had forgotten all of my choreo. How embarrassing! I tried to cover it up by doing some random moves though. They called the finalists that night and e-mailed those who didn't make it into the final 14.

Here are a few photos from my camera. Others are on newspapers, online, etc. (The ones I have aren't so great and there aren't many. Sorry!)

They told us to bend down so they could see the taller girls in the back.. But didn't work out haha

Thank you to: The most amazing person in my life

My mom

I really don't say "thank you" or "I love you mom" to her as much as I should. Until a few years ago, I thought friends were all I needed because my family wasn't a close one. I'd always go to my friends for support and comfort, but then I came to realize family are the only ones that are going to be there for you when you hit rock bottom. Friends come and go, but family is always family. I have a huge family and out of everyone in my family, and in this whole entire world, I love my mom the most. She's the most amazing and inspiring person I know and I'm so glad to call her my mom. If I had the chance to choose anyone to be my mom, I'd pick her. You're jealous she's not your mom hehe. You know how many people say "oh but I don't think my mom loves me best."? Well I feel my mom's love. She has such a big heart and I know she deserves way more than the way she has to live now. My heart aches knowing all the things she's been through over the past 20 years, but I hope I can change that and take away all her worries and pain.

I've seen my mom go through hospital check ups, going to work even though she's sick, crying because of family problems, trying to make everyone else happy, sacrificing for each and every one of us. I never really appreciated or noticed all these things she does for us. I've let my mom down and disappointed her several times, but she still forgives me. Ever since I was small, she tried to get me everything I asked for because she didn't want me to take it from another kid's. She wanted me to live a happy life and grow up to be someone successful so I don't have to go through the same pain she had to go through.

I really wanna give back to my mom this time. I might not be working and getting a job but I definitely wanna start making life easier for her. I wanna change myself into a good daughter that will take care of my mom. I want her to live a long and healthy life no matter what. I'm so glad to have her support and help with my beauty pageant. Without her, I seriously wouldn't have gotten this far. Even though I'm an independent person, I'd be totally lost without my mom. She tells me to practice my walk, she helped me make my appointments and makes sure I get everything done on time. She paid for everything just so I can join this year's pageant and I feel bad that she has to spend so much money for me. I hope I won't disappoint her this time and make her proud. Hopefully she can have some rest and come to China with me for two weeks.

Small update

Saturday
I went to Flushing in the morning with my mom and her friend. We wanted to try out the new restaurant in the new mall that just opened up so we went there for Dimsum. I didn't have time to put on make up when I left so I wore sunglasses and put make up on when we were inside a store. After we finished eating, we went downstairs and went around the mall. There was a korean store where I tried on a lot of clothes and they were really nice. They kept complimenting me and I felt bad in the end cause my mom didn't really like them. I did end up getting two things, a striped blazer (like the one I wanted from yesstyle), and a white tank shirt with flowers on the top. My mom got them both for me for $80 altogether. We all went to Flushing mall but there was seriously nothing there anymore. After that we got bubble tea then took the van back to Chinatown. We ate a little then went home to rest cause it was a long day. We all walked a lot in our heels which was super tiring.

Sunday
We had a contract signing/meeting for the pageant so I woke up early that day. I didn't have much time to get ready so I went to the salon to get my hair washed and stuff. First, Vivi and I met up with her cousin and we went to eat then I went to Judy's studio. My mom couldn't come with me so I couldn't sign the contract yet but I just sat there and got some info. We also had to do a little intro in front of all the girls, but everyone seemed pretty nice. Judy's pet parrot was so funny hahah. I found out that most of the people in productions knew my parents so it was kinda awkward.

Monday
The weather was so icky! It's gonna be like this all week though. I just went to my boyfriend's house and we ordered Chinese take out for lunch. Of course, we both fell asleep and slept for hours. PS, Saturday was our 8 months together tehe. Hopefully he can come over tomorrow since his mom's gonna be home and stuff.

Recent purchases and Mother's Day

These colors are all so pretty!! They're all pastels so it's perfect for the Spring/Summer weather.

Got a new mirror! The floral design on the outside is so pretty.

My amazing cousin Ivan bought this for me. I got it in a store in Elizabeth center. It was $18!!!
The smaller pink beads keep falling out, but they do glue it back on for free. It's just annoying to see it fall off though but whatever.
